Thon Maker has signed with Hapoel Jerusalem, the team announced Wednesday.
Taken with the tenth overal pick in the 2016 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks, Maker never became the player that one would expect of a top ten pick, as he only averaged 4.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and 0.5 assists in 13.8 minutes per contest. Maker was involved in a three team trade between the Detroit Pistons, Milwaukee Bucks and the New Orleans Pelicans that most notable sent fellow former lottery pick Stanley Johnson to the Pelicans and Maker to the Pistons. While in Detroit he put up 4.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game. He signed a Exhibit 10 contract , which is a one-year, non-guaranteed minimum contracts with built-in clauses allowing teams to convert them to two-way contracts before the start of the regular season, with the Cleveland Cavaliers but was seen in only eight games before being waived January 14, 2021.
